Your chance to secure heavily subsidised office space for a year at The Business Village Wilthorpe…

As a result of exciting growth and expansion from current tenants, The Business Village Wilthorpe site now has four units of between 820 square feet and 1,000 square feet in area available.

Because of our tenants’ success and the immediate availability of these units, we’re repeating our highly successful Barnsley Means Business promotion for a limited time period, where these units are being made available to new businesses at heavily subsidised rates for one year.

The rules of the promotion are simple**:

1. Submit a business plan on the link below of no more than two sides of A4 outlining what you would do with a unit of this size. This could be a new business opportunity; it could be for the expansion of an existing business; it could be for a project benefiting the community – we just want to hear what your objectives would be if one of these exciting spaces was yours for a minimum of one year.
2. Your plan should include an indication of what rent you could afford to pay each month to meet your financial objectives for the year. It could be £1; it could be £5,000. The current full market rental for the largest unit is approximately £17,000 per annum and this includes our managed office service charge consisting of reception services and heating amongst many others.
3. The only additional costs to you would be for electricity and broadband – our site wide Wi-Fi is now in place so you’ll be able to access your own private Wi-Fi from anywhere on the site. If this is your only business premises, then business rates will be covered by small business rate relief.
4. If we like your business plan, then you’ll be offered one of the units for the rent included in your forecast for at least one year. Unfortunately, there’s a limit to the number of units we can offer under this promotion, and only the very best business plans will be considered, but what have you got to lose?

Life at The Business Village includes free parking, our on-site Bistro and discounted meeting room hire. Our professional management team will be available to provide business support, collaboration and networking opportunities, you may also be eligible for additional business support and grant funding via Enterprising Barnsley and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

The closing date for submission of business plans is 17:00 on Monday 16th October 2023. Successful applicants can move in as early as 1st November 2023.
