This course is aimed at any practitioner working with children and/or adults who would like a more comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and their role within it.
By the end of the course, those attending those attending will:
- Have reflected on the spectrum of safeguarding and considered key principles and definitions in safeguarding children & adults
- Have had the opportunity to consider current trends, causal and risk factors
- Have considered what issues they may identify in their work, and what risks they may need to anticipate or prepare for
- Have discussed safe workplaces, cultures, and whistleblowing
- Have considered their role in safeguarding, and what to do if they have a concern about a child, or adult or workplace conduct/practice
- Have considered best practice issues
- Have reflected on the importance of self-care
- Know where to go when they have concerns or need advice/support in responding to safeguarding concerns
- Identified next steps for them as professionals
