An interactive course exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping safeguarding risks.
Safeguarding in the age of AI is an interactive course exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping safeguarding risks and responsibilities. It examines current online harms affecting children and young people, and young adults, as well as risks to professionals working with them. The course explores statutory duties, particularly within education when working with vulnerable groups. The course also highlights the positive potential of AI, offering practical guidance and hands-on experience in using AI safely and constructively to create safeguarding resources, raise awareness, and reduce risk. During the course participants will have opportunities to try out some AI for themselves and identify how to transfer this to the workplace for further development.
Who is the course for?
Anyone working with children, young people or young adults who want a better understanding of the risks posed by AI; and how to use AI safely and effectively. This includes those working in governance, senior leadership and programme development; as well as those in teaching, pastoral, safeguarding, and support roles.
