As part of our planning towards the construction of Phase 5 in 2020, we have a requirement to complete a travel plan for the Wilthorpe site.
The Phase 5 building is being designed to achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating and points are earned towards this by having a travel plan in place with targets for increased sustainable travel.
We are also planning towards having reduced parking spaces available during the construction period which is likely to be from February to November 2020. Our expectation is that we will lose about 60 current parking spaces inside the site perimeter. Additional spaces will be created in various locations around the site, but at this time we don’t know the timing of when they will be established.
Our wish is to prioritise parking for staff of tenant companies, but we need to understand the day to day requirements of those staff who attend site on all or most working days, and whether we are able to reduce demand for parking spaces by encouraging more sustainable travel.
We also need to be able to accommodate visitors coming to tenant companies, and are likely to suspend external meeting room bookings during construction to reduce the demand from visitors not linked to tenant companies. Construction workers will not be allowed to park on the site.
It is likely that local public roads to the site will see increased parking during construction, but we would like to assess the scale of the challenge and put forward a plan in conjunction with the Project Manager and Principal Contractor so that all parties understand how we will be managing the situation.
We would like to encourage car sharing, and would appreciate your co-operation in discussing this with your staff so that we can make the most efficient use of the parking space as possible. That may entail sharing with a staff member from another company who works similar hours.
Attached to this note is a spreadsheet which describes our base line survey and I would request that you complete this within the next seven days to allow us to commence our planning. We do have a need for all tenants based at the Wilthorpe site to complete this, so we will be following this up with you.
Your spreadsheet shows the names of all staff who have a security pass so please provide answers for each one.
There are some final questions (13 to 15) which only need answering once ie on one row only, so that we have knowledge of your visitors and any vehicles that might be parked on site overnight.
Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.
