“More and Better Jobs” – The Employment and Skills Strategy

At last week’s First Friday networking breakfast Ken Keenan from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council gave us a fascinating insight into the Council’s ambition to make the borough a thriving and unique place to live and work.

The employment and skills strategy “More and Better Jobs” aims to build the skills needed to support a thriving and vibrant economy which gives Barnsley employers the skills they need to grow locally, regionally and globally and Barnsley people the skills they need to gain and secure sustainable employment now and in the future.

In a very interactive session Ken received some great feedback and enjoyed a lively debate, we hope you enjoyed the presentation too and gained some useful and practical pointers to help develop your businesses and possibly develop a few ideas of how you could contribute.
