Upcoming headshot day at The Business Village
These days, people often see your photo before they meet you in person. Your image appears on LinkedIn, your website, business directories, and Google Business Profile, working away in the background. A professional headshot helps you look trustworthy, approachable, and memorable. And it can make all the difference when someone’s deciding whether to work with you.
Clients often see your photo and make their mind up in seconds. A good headshot can help you stand out from the competition and leave a lasting impact. Sometimes, it may even be the deciding factor for someone choosing between similar businesses.
A professional headshot also helps people connect with you and trust you. It shows you take yourself and your business seriously. Plus, by keeping your image up to date, there won’t be any surprises when you finally meet in person. If your LinkedIn photo is 15 years old, maybe it’s time for an update.
In today’s AI-driven world, seeing the human side of a business is more important than ever. An up to date, authentic photo helps people feel that connection long before you’ve even spoken.
Your photograph is a big part of your personal brand. It gives people a sense of who you are and what your business stands for.
A professional, consistent image across your website, social media, and other platforms makes you easier to recognise. People are more likely to remember you and, when you meet at events, they’ll already feel like they know you.
A headshot works hard for your business online and across all marketing materials. It’s there 24/7, connecting you with potential clients even when you’ve switched off for the evening.
It helps create a consistent presence across platforms, giving your business a more professional feel. A good headshot can also help you feel more confident sharing your website, social media profiles, and marketing materials.
This is especially important for small businesses where the person is often the brand. A professional headshot isn’t just about good lighting. It’s about helping your business get results and making you feel more confident.
Even knowing the benefits, many people delay updating their headshot. It can often feel awkward, or you might be too busy running your business to think about it. Some worry they won’t like the results or they’re not sure who to book.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Andrew Lyons, a commercial photographer based in South Yorkshire, to run a headshot day at The Business Village.

“People buy from people,” says Andy. “A professional headshot shows the human side of your business. It says this is me, this is who I am. In a world of AI, that authenticity helps you stand out.”
“My style is simple,” he adds. “It’s about photographs with purpose – finding the story and creating something that shares it.”
