Discover how Chris Langham’s own experience inspired him to help others build healthier habits.
A new wellbeing initiative is coming to The Business Village, giving people the opportunity to take a closer look at their nutrition through a free one-to-one wellness consultation.
Leading the sessions is Chris Langham, founder of Chrysalis Nutrition, whose own experience inspired him to help others make positive changes too.
During the pandemic, Chris and his wife Allie were running a successful photography business when their work came to a complete stop. As a non-essential business, they were required to close their doors. At the same time, they were both struggling with their own health and wellbeing.
When a former colleague got in touch to tell Chris he’d become a wellness coach, he decided to find out more. Armed with a PhD in chemistry and years spent working alongside scientists in the chemical industry, he approached the programme with a scientific mindset and a healthy dose of scepticism.
“I was actually a real cynic trying to prove it didn’t work,” says Chris. “But in six months, I lost four stone. I got my blood pressure and cholesterol back in check and felt amazing.”
Chris and Allie began the programme together and the results they experienced became the starting point for Chrysalis Nutrition. Alongside Chris’s own transformation, Allie experienced improvements in symptoms linked to menopause. Seeing the difference it made in their own lives, they began supporting friends and family too.
“People were seeing our results and asking what we were doing,” says Chris. “We naturally started helping people, and the business grew from there.”
The name Chrysalis has been part of Chris and Allie’s story for many years. Before moving into nutrition, they ran a photography business and chose the name to represent transformation and moving from one stage of life to another.
“When we came up with a name for the photography business, Chrysalis felt like a corporate caterpillar emerging into a creative butterfly,” explains Chris. “And then we realised it was Chris and Allie too.”
That idea of transformation continued when they moved into nutrition. The business is about helping people make positive changes that last by creating healthier habits that become part of everyday life.
Today, Chrysalis Nutrition works with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them understand nutrition, build confidence, and create routines that work for their lives.
While many people first come looking for help with their weight, Chris has seen the benefits often go much further. He’s seen people discover improvements in other areas of their lives too, including confidence, energy levels, routines, and overall wellbeing.
“It’s so much more than weight,” says Chris. “People get structure in their lives and something they can anchor their day around. That gives them more confidence in themselves and their ability to make changes.”
For Chris, the focus is on creating healthier habits and building consistency rather than aiming for perfection. And, for many people, the community becomes just as important as the nutrition itself. Chris says they often describe Chrysalis Nutrition as their “safe space” or “happy place” – somewhere they can feel supported, encouraged, and accountable.
Chris is now bringing his approach to The Business Village, offering free one-to-one wellness consultations to help busy people take a closer look at their nutrition and wellbeing. The initiative makes personalised support more accessible for people working at The Business Village, helping them build healthier habits that fit around everyday life.
Chris will be at The Business Village on Tuesday 18th August, with initial free wellness consultations taking place in the Bistro. Appointments can be booked via the QR code below or by contacting Chris on 07900 220 456. If you’d prefer to speak with Chris at another time, you can also arrange a Zoom chat by sending him a message.
The consultations will give people the opportunity to discuss their health goals and explore practical ways to improve their nutrition and wellbeing. For Chris, the aim is to make wellbeing support realistic for busy lives.
“Everybody’s busy,” he explains. “People are working full-time, doing the school run, looking after families, and trying to fit everything in. We want to make healthy choices easier.”
Longer term, Chris hopes to build a community at The Business Village similar to the Nutrition Club he runs in Sheffield. There, people can access ongoing support, accountability, and connection.
“It’s a bit like a modern pub, but where everybody’s healthy, not sitting around drinking,” says Chris.
Whether someone books through a Business Village session or arranges a separate appointment, the first step is always a free wellness consultation.
This gives Chris the chance to understand what someone wants to achieve, what challenges they’re facing, and what changes would make the biggest difference. Whether that’s improving energy levels, building healthier routines, or working towards a specific goal, the conversation is always tailored to the individual.
“We’re a little bit like a sat-nav,” says Chris. “We find out where someone wants to get to, and we guide them. If they go off track, we help them get back on track as soon as we can.”
Chris’s approach is about helping people understand nutrition and make choices that fit around their lifestyle, rather than following short-term solutions that feel impossible to maintain.
If you’d like to find out more about Chrysalis Nutrition, you can book a free wellness consultation with Chris, either through the Business Village sessions or at a separate time that works for you.
Taking the first step doesn’t have to mean making big changes straight away. The free consultation is a chance to have an informal chat with Chris, talk through your goals, and find out what support could work for you.

Spaces are limited, so if you’d like to book a consultation, it’s worth getting in touch soon. Depending on interest, there may be opportunities to benefit from Chris’s expertise on future days too.
