Mindful Monday Outdoors comes to The Business Village

Take a lunchtime break from the busy working day with guided breathwork, mindfulness, and time in the fresh air

Imagine beginning your working week lying underneath a tree, feeling the breeze on your face, taking slow guided breaths and giving yourself permission to switch off for a while.

That’s exactly what’s planned for Mindful Monday Outdoors with Heavenly Body, a new wellbeing session coming to The Business Village this September.

Led by Business Village tenant Tracy Revitt, this relaxed outdoor lunchtime session combines gentle breathwork, mindfulness, and time in nature. It’s designed to help participants find a sense of calm in their everyday lives.

“I’ve done a few sessions outside myself and it really changes your perspective,” says Tracy. “Even in the pouring rain, you still get the benefits.”

Whether you’re new to breathwork or have already explored mindfulness practices, Tracy’s session offers a welcoming space to pause, recharge, and return to your working day feeling refreshed.

Meet Tracy

As the owner of Heavenly Body, Tracy takes a holistic approach to wellbeing. She combines treatments with mindfulness, Reiki, and breathing techniques to help her clients relax both physically and mentally.

Her passion for breathwork grew after experiencing its benefits herself.

“Breathwork is for every single person who breathes,” Tracy says. “It quietens your mind, brings your body back into balance, and teaches you how to breathe well.”

Many of us don’t think about how we breathe, but Tracy believes modern lifestyles can encourage habits that leave us feeling tense, stressed, and disconnected from our bodies. She explains that breathing patterns can change when we’re under stress:

“When life feels busy or overwhelming, our breathing patterns can change without us realising it. My sessions encourage people to slow down, become more aware of their breath, and create a sense of calm during the day.”

What to expect

The session will last around 45 minutes, including approximately 30 minutes of guided breathwork and mindfulness. Tracy will gently guide participants throughout, so there’s no need for any previous experience.

She recommends bringing a yoga mat, blanket, or folding chair if you’d prefer not to lie on the grass. You may also like to bring a cushion, an eye mask, a bottle of water, and a light blanket to help you stay comfortable.

One of the biggest differences from Tracy’s indoor sessions is the connection with the outdoors.

“Feeling the wind in your hair, the air on your face, the sun if it’s shining, and feeling connected to the ground beneath you all become part of the experience,” she says.

If the thought of joining an outdoor mindfulness session feels a little daunting, you’re not alone. Tracy understands that being outdoors can feel unfamiliar at first, and some people may worry about feeling self-conscious. However, she believes that once the session begins, those concerns quickly fade.

“Once you’re concentrating on your breathing, everything else becomes irrelevant. You’re not overthinking anymore, you’re just relaxing.”

Tracy has designed the session with beginners in mind, so you’ll be guided every step of the way. And, if you’d rather not come alone, she’s happy for friends to book together.

One of the most common questions about an outdoor event like this is: “What happens if it rains?”

Tracy’s answer is simple – come prepared and embrace the experience.

“I did a session in the middle of winter once and I was dreading it,” she says. “But it ended up being one of the most exhilarating experiences I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even feel the rain in the end.”

The session will go ahead in most weather conditions, so Tracy recommends wearing suitable layers and bringing something waterproof if needed. And, if you’d rather not lie on the grass, a folding chair is absolutely fine.

Why breathwork and visualisation can support relaxation

For Tracy, breathwork is a simple way for us to slow down in a busy world. Many of us spend our days rushing from one job to the next, often without noticing that our breathing has become quick and shallow.

Breathwork encourages slower, more controlled breathing alongside mindfulness techniques that help bring your attention back to the present moment.

The session will also include guided visualisation, with nature providing the theme for the practice. Tracy will guide participants through the session, combining visualisation with different breathing techniques to help bring their focus away from the constant self-talk and chatter that can fill our minds.

Mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting silently for long periods of time. Tracy’s approach is all about noticing your breathing, being present, and becoming more aware of your body and the world around you.

By combining breathwork, visualisation, and the natural surroundings, the session is designed to create a sense of calm, focus, and awareness. These practices may also support the body’s natural relaxation response, helping participants move away from the stresses of the working day.

While everyone’s experience is different, research into slow breathing techniques suggests they may help with stress management and support the body’s natural relaxation response. Some studies have also explored links with improved sleep, emotional wellbeing, and reduced anxiety.

But for Tracy, the biggest benefit is much simpler.

“Once you start focusing on your breathing, the chatter in your head starts to quieten because you’re bringing your attention away from everything else.”

She also believes the session is about learning practical techniques that participants can continue using long after the event has finished. These simple techniques can then become part of everyday life, helping create moments of calm whenever they’re needed.

Book your place for Mindful Monday Outdoors

For Tracy, the session is about more than wellbeing. It’s also an opportunity to give something back and support a local cause.
